چکیده

This study proposes a simple method to produce flood hazard assessment map in burned and urban areas, where primary data are scarce. The area is municipal unit of Nea Makri, coastal part the eastern Attica peninsula (central Greece), which has been strongly urbanized suffered damage from fires 2018. Six factors were considered as parameters most controlling runoff when it overdraws drainage system’s capacity. analytical hierarchy process (AHP) geographical information system (GIS) utilized create map. outcome revealed that areas with highest distributed southern parts area, result combination lowlands gentle slopes, torrential behavior streams, streams covered by construction, increasing urbanization areas. uncertainty verification analyses demonstrate robust for model predictions, well reliability accuracy Comparing existing fabric road network potential showed 80% 50% situated within prone flood. may be applied land use planning projects, mitigation post-fire management.

A Framework for Flood Risk Analysis and Benefit Assessment of Flood Control Measures in Urban Areas

Flood risk analysis is more complex in urban areas than that in rural areas because of their closely packed buildings, different kinds of land uses, and large number of flood control works and drainage systems. The purpose of this paper is to propose a practical framework for flood risk analysis and benefit assessment of flood control measures in urban areas. Based on the concept of disaster ri...

Flash Flood Hazard Susceptibility Mapping Using Frequency Ratio and Statistical Index Methods in Coalmine Subsidence Areas

This study focused on producing flash flood hazard susceptibility maps (FFHSM) using frequency ratio (FR) and statistical index (SI) models in the Xiqu Gully (XQG) of Beijing, China. First, a total of 85 flash flood hazard locations (n = 85) were surveyed in the field and plotted using geographic information system (GIS) software. Based on the flash flood hazard locations, a flood hazard invent...

Flood Hazard Assessment Using Panchromatic Satellite Imagery

Panchromatic (PAN) satellite imagery has been used successfully in different applications such as topographic mapping and terrain modelling. Nevertheless, PAN imagery is still one of the less used digital sources for land-change studies except few processes where the high-resolution of the PAN images is used to improve the visualization quality of the multi-spectral images. This research aimed ...
